Should I buy that motorbike?

Do I want to take that job opportunity? How can I align my life more with what is important? How do I handle the changes in my relationships?


These are all questions asked by my clients. My answer - I don't have one, but I know that my clients do, always. That's the joy of coaching - helping people move forwards by defining what changes they want, planning towards those changes, and then helping them bust past anything that might be getting in their way - whether that is fear, or lack of confidence, or restrictions on your time, or something else entirely.


In this blog, we'll look at 3 questions to get you thinking about your goals.


1/ What is the outcome that I want?

If you don't know, ask yourself what the most important thing to you is, or what the thing is that gets you bouncing out of bed in the morning?


2/ Where are you now?

Be honest with yourself. Where are you now versus the outcome you want? What skills do you have - and what skills do you need? What else do you need? Do you know what you need, or is it a bit uncertain and unclear to you?

3/ How can you get out of your own way?

Take an example. If to get your dream job, you need to be able to present confidently and clearly in front of hundreds of people, but each time you think about doing that presentation, you get this lurching feeling in your stomach and start rambling... That's triggered by an internal voice that is telling you that you'll mess it up. So how do you get out of your way? Change that voice, change how it makes you feel, and change how you respond to it.


If you challenge yourself to work through these questions, you will get to a starting point as to what it will take to take a step forwards.
